Well, we finally made it. After too long deep in code – and that’s not a place anyone would want to be for very long, let me tell you – the new myJournal.com features have been launched. You may not notice a vast amount of difference straight away, but several things are now MUCH easier to do.

Here’s a quick rundown:

• Much easier showroom administration:

  Adding products to your showroom has just got a whole lot simpler. Simply go to your showroom, click the “Add products” link and select one or more pictures from your computer. Press “Add products” and they are there. You can enter a title and description for each product, and set the price if you want, then set them live in a category.

• Much easier profile administration:

  Editing your profile used to be a bit too tricky, changing this field here and that field there. We’ve put all your profile admin stuff in one place. Just visit your profile page, click “Edit your profile” and make all the changes you want – name, industries, description, your photo, everything. Press “Save” and you’re done!

• Much easier network administration:

  We also realised that the networks were hard to get to grips with, so that’s now much easier too. Want to create a network? Visit the networks page and click “Create a network”. Enter the title and description for your network, set a few other options (like whether people have to be invited to join), choose an image and click “Create network”. You’ll be up and running in no time.

  It’s also really easy to change the details for any network. Just go to the main page for any network you are an administrator of and click “Administer this network”. You can change the name, description, image and other options right there. You can even promote members of your network to be network administrators – or remove people permanantly from your networks – on the network members page.

More detailed explanations of all these changes (and the other, less obvious one, for example try right-clicking on a members photo) will be posted soon, along with pictures so you can get to grips with the changes very easily.

As you can tell, our primary concern with these changes has been to make things easier. And we’re not done yet; there’s lots more changes and some great new features in the pipeline. But for now, I’m going to finish my glass of wine and go to bed!
